Printed Circuit Board Testing

Printed circuit board testing is by far one of the most important steps in the manufacturing process. It is the circuit board testing that checks the quality and durability of a circuit board before it gets delivered. Triangle Circuits takes testing very seriously and the reason why we have a less than 5% customer return rate on our circuit boards.

All of our printed circuit board testing is done in-house on our orders to ensure the quality electronic performance. We are not an independent testing service and therefore do not take in other company's circuit boards for testing. We focus our attention on testing your printed circuit board and have the control to make corrections before their is a problem and before the manufacturing process is complete. This offers you both better control in the quality and reduces costs by making corrections before completing the entire order.

The printed circuit boards are given a bare board test before being populated to test and ensure that each circuit connection is verified as correct on the finished circuit board.

Triangle Circuits offers testing procedures for high volume and low volume printed circuit boards in an effort to better test the production as well as reduce manufacturing costs for you.

High volume printed circuit board production uses a bed of nails tester or fixture to make contact with the copper lands or holes on one or both sides of the board to facilitate testing. Computers are used to control the electrical testing unit to send a small current through each contact point on the bed of nails and verify that such current can be detected on the appropriate contact points.

Small to medium volume production runs use a flying probe tester to check electrical contacts. Flying probes employ moving heads to make contact with the copper lands and holes to validate the electrical connectivity of the board being tested.
